July 1, 2008: Finish Line sponsors AU SIFE for 2008-09
Following a meetting with Greg Davis, Vice President for Store Operations,
Finish Line has agreeded to continue their support of the Anderson
University SIFE program as a project sponsor and the print sponsor
for SIFE. This parternship offers unique opportunities for both SIFE
and Finish Line.
May 22, 2008: AU SIFE Receives $5000 Madison County Community
Foundation Grant
The Madison County Community Foundation award AU SIFE a $5,000 grant
to help sustain their leadership structure for the upcoming year. Kelly
Kaiser, VP of Sustainability, applied for and coordinated the work
involved in applying for this grant.
May 17, 2008: 2008 SIFE USA National Exposition
The AU SIFE team competed in Chicago at the SIFE USA National Exposition
May 13-15. A great opening round presentation by the AU team was
defeated by the University of Arizona SIFE team, who went on to win
the entire competition and become the USA National Champion. Much
appreciation is expressed for all the 5,489 hours volunteered by over
100 students at AU. 26 projects positively
and directly impacted 2,610 people in the surrounding community. The
AU SIFE team has helped create 405 new jobs as a result of their projects.
Thank you for all your hard work.
Additionally,
the support of four Sam Walton Fellow faculty advisors was greatly
appreciated.
Dr. Michael Wiese of the Falls School of Business, and 19-year Sam
Walton Fellow Faculty Advisor, was inducted into the Sam Walton Fellow
Hall of Fame. His dedication and passion to helping students learn
is extraordinary. The team appreciates all of his years of leadership
as he has chosen step-down from his role as a Sam Walton Fellow, but
pledges to stay involved with team's Consulting Services project.
Dr. Wendell Seaborne, Associate Professor of Management at the Falls
School of Business, will become the new primary Sam Walton Fellow
faculty advisor for the Anderson University Students in Free Enterprise
(SIFE) team. Seaborne will be entering his third year as a Sam Walton
Fellow and will work alongside with Dr. Mark Motluck and Professor
Emmett Dulaney to advise this student-run organization. Click

March 29, 2008: 2008 Cincinnati Regional Champions
The AU SIFE team successful won the SIFE regional competition that
took place in Cincinnati, OH on March 28, 2008. They advance to the
National Exposition that will be held in Chicago, IL and take place
on May 13-15, 2008.
